Description

At 620 PM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line extending from Lamar to near Snow Shoe to Black Moshannon State Park, moving southeast at 35 mph.
Hazard: Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to blowing snow and visibility rapidly falling to less than one-quarter mile. Wind gusts greater than 40 mph.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous within minutes. For those driving on Interstate 80, this includes areas between the Kylertown and Jersey Shore exits, specifically between mile markers 140 and 178, and from mile markers 181 to 188. This includes Interstate 99 from mile markers 78 to 85. This includes the following highway
S: Route 220 from Bellefonte to near Mackeyville on I-80. State Road 26 from Pleasant Gap to I-80. State Road 45 from Millheim to east of Aaronsburg. Locations impacted include Bellefonte, Woodward, Pleasant Gap, Lamar, Zion, Centre Hall, Milesburg, Millheim, Snow Shoe, Blanchard, Clarence, and Aaronsburg.

Slow Down! Rapid changes in visibility and road conditions are expected with this dangerous snow squall. Be alert for sudden whiteout conditions. If traveling on a highway, find the nearest exit or rest area and park safely away from traffic. Allow snow squalls to pass before attempting to resume travel.
