Description

At 1057 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 5 miles northwest of Carney to near Norman to near Rosedale. Movement was southeast at 30 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Norman, eastern Edmond, Midwest City, Shawnee, Tecumseh, Purcell, Chandler, Choctaw, Noble, Harrah, Slaughterville, McLoud, Jones, Nicoma Park, Lexington, Pink, Luther, Meeker, Wellston, and Wayne.

Recommended Action

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of central Oklahoma, including the following counties, Canadian, Cleveland, Logan, McClain and Oklahoma.
When: Until midnight CDT tonight.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 1000 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Oklahoma City, western Norman, Edmond, Moore, Midwest City, Del City, Guthrie, Newcastle, Yukon, Bethany, Mustang, Choctaw, Warr Acres, The Village, Tuttle, Piedmont, Harrah, Spencer, Nichols Hills and Jones. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
