Flood Advisory
What: Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of northeast Ohio, including the following counties, Mahoning, Portage, Stark, Summit and Trumbull.
When: Until 745 PM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Additional Details: - At 445 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Akron, Youngstown, Warren, Ravenna, Boardman, Kent, Barberton, Green, Alliance, Niles, Tallmadge, North Canton, Campbell, Hubbard, Canfield, Cortland, Newton Falls, Mogadore, Lordstown and Hartville. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
