Description

What: Large breaking waves of 8 to 10 feet expected in the surf zone. Waves currently forecast to peak at 10 to 12 feet Sunday.
Where: The beaches north of Cape Hatteras.
When: From 2 PM Saturday to 8 PM EDT Monday.
Impacts: Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion.
Additional Details: There is potential that high surf advisory criteria could last through much of the upcoming work-week.

Recommended Action

Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.
