Rain is rapidly overspreading the northern Finger Lakes region. Patchy freezing rain will be likely especially in rural areas and on untreated road surfaces. Also higher terrain in southern Cayuga County and Onondaga County will have a better chance for freezing rain. Most areas will climb to above freezing soon after the onset of the rain. Expect some higher terrain locations to see a little more freezing rain into the evening especially from the high elevations of southern Cayuga County to the southern part of Onondaga County. Persons traveling in these areas should watch out for icy conditions on roadways. Allow extra time to reach your destination.

What: West winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
Where: All of Central New York and northeast Pennsylvania.
When: From 1 PM Monday to 7 PM EST Tuesday.
Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
