Description

What: Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 5 to 10 inches in the most persistent lake snows across the Tug Hill Plateau, and 2 to 4 inches for the surrounding lower elevations. Winds gusting as high as 35 to 40 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow.
Where: The Eastern Lake Ontario Region. The greatest additional accumulations will be across the Tug Hill Plateau, with much lower accumulations across the lower elevations.
When: Until 7 AM EST Tuesday. Lake effect snow will increase in intensity again this morning and continue through much of tonight, before diminishing late.
Impacts: Travel will be difficult with snow covered roads and reduced visibility at times. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.

Recommended Action

Lake effect snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities. Submit snow reports through our website or social media.
