Description
As temperatures begin falling back to near freezing around or shortly after daybreak, some of the standing water from overnight rainfall may refreeze and result in slippery patches of ice across portions of the western Mohawk Valley and eastern Catskills. Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution if driving or walking through 9 AM this morning and be prepared for a possible thin layer of ice on roadways, sidewalks, stairs, driveways or any other untreated ground surfaces which may remain icy and slippery.

Description

What: West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
Where: The Mohawk Valley, greater Capital Region, eastern Catskills, Schoharie County and central Taconics of eastern New York, and Berkshire County in western Massachusetts.
When: From 5 PM this afternoon to 9 AM EST Monday.
Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Additional Details: West to northwest winds will increase later this afternoon and continue overnight into early Monday morning before diminishing.

Recommended Action

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.
