Description

What: Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. This approaches the flood of record.
Where: West Canada Creek at Hinckley.
When: Until late Friday morning.
Impacts: At 1228.0 feet, Moderate flood stage. Three feet of water are spilling over and there is widespread flooding downstream between Hinckley and Herkimer. Route 28 from White Creek Road To Mechanic Street In Newport is closed due to water over the roadway.
Additional Details: - At 2:45 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 1229.8 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to fall below flood stage early Friday morning and continue falling to 1226.5 feet Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 1227.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
