Description

Hazards: A snow squall accompanied by winds of 30 MPH which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than one mile. Location And Movement: At 229 PM EST, a snow squall was over St. Johnsville, or 7 miles northwest of Canajoharie moving east at 35 MPH. This Snow Squall Will Be Near: Fort Plain and Ephratah around 235 PM EST. Canajoharie around 240 PM EST. Johnstown and Fonda around 250 PM EST. Tribes Hill around 255 PM EST. Fort Johnson around 300 PM EST. Amsterdam around 305 PM EST. This includes Interstate 90 between exits 27 and 29. Safety Info: Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this snow squall. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads may lead to accidents.

Description

What: West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
Where: The Mohawk Valley, greater Capital Region, eastern Catskills, Schoharie County and central Taconics of eastern New York, and Berkshire County in western Massachusetts.
When: From 5 PM this afternoon to 9 AM EST Monday.
Impacts: Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Additional Details: West to northwest winds will increase later this afternoon and continue overnight into early Monday morning before diminishing.

Recommended Action

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.
