Description

At 1128 PM CDT/1028 PM MDT/, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Seagraves to Andrews to near Goldsmith to 9 miles southeast of Kermit. Movement was east at 35 mph.
Hazard: Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include Midland, Odessa, Andrews, Seminole, Kermit, Seagraves, Jal, Wink, Goldsmith, Seagraves Airport, Jal Airport, Midland International Air and Space Port, Gaines County Airport, Welch, West Odessa, Cotton Flat, Patricia, McKenzie Lake, Midland Airpark, and Bennett. This includes Interstate 20 between mile markers 93 and 143.

Recommended Action

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
