Description
Critical Fire Weather Conditions Return To The Area Monday Afternoon: The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from noon to 9 PM CDT Monday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
Winds: Southwest with sustained speeds near 15 to 20 mph and gusts near 25 to 30 mph.
Relative Humidity: As low as 11 to 18 percent.
Impacts: Any fire that develops will spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Recommended Action
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
