Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is ongoing.
Where: A portion of panhandle Nebraska, including the following counties, Box Butte, Morrill and Scotts Bluff.
When: Until noon MDT Wednesday.
Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding.
Additional Details: - At 1122 AM MDT, Emergency management reported flooding in the warned area. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Bayard, Angora and Moomaw Corner. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
