Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
Where: Portions of Kansas, including the following areas, Johnson KS, Leavenworth, Linn KS, Miami and Wyandotte and Missouri, including the following areas, Adair, Bates, Caldwell, Carroll, Cass, Chariton, Clay, Clinton, Cooper, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Johnson MO, Lafayette, Linn MO, Livingston, Macon, Pettis, Platte, Randolph, Ray and Saline.
When: From 7 PM CDT this evening through Thursday afternoon.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Recommended Action

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Linn County in east central Kansa
S: and Bates, Cass, Henry, and Johnson counties in west central Missouri.
When: Until 1100 PM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Additional Details: - At 759 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have fallen, with the heaviest rainfall so far in eastern Bates and western Henry counties. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Warrensburg, Clinton, Butler, Holden, Adrian, Garden City, Rich Hill, Pleasanton, La Cygne, Mound City, Whiteman Air Force Base, Archie, Linn Valley, Leeton, Urich, Montrose, Creighton, Hume, Chilhowee and Blue Mound. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
