Flood Warning
Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and increased in duration for the following rivers in Missouri South Grand River at Urich affecting Henry, Cass and Bates Counties.
What: Moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: South Grand River at Urich.
When: Until tomorrow evening.
Impacts: At 24.0 feet, flooding occurs across locations within 0.5 to 1.5 miles of the river. Areas affected include low lying pastures along with cropland and secondary roads. At 28.0 feet, K Highway is under water approximately 1 mile south of Urich. Many other roads along the river are flooded as well.
Additional Details: - At 1:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.1 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage early this morning to a crest of 27.0 feet this morning. What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of Kansas, including the following areas, Johnson KS, Leavenworth, Linn KS, Miami and Wyandotte and Missouri, including the following areas, Adair, Bates, Caldwell, Carroll, Cass, Chariton, Clay, Clinton, Cooper, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Johnson MO, Lafayette, Linn MO, Livingston, Macon, Pettis, Platte, Randolph, Ray and Saline.
When: Through Thursday afternoon.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
Additional Details: - Thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall will continue through early Thursday morning across much of central Missouri and far eastern Kansas. Flash flooding has already been reported in some areas, with more flooding expected in the watch area, especially in central Missouri, overnight. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Flash Flood Warning
At 141 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding across the warned area. Numerous roads are closed in Bates and Henry counties, with additional flooding reported in southeast Cass and southwest Johnson counties. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. Travel is not recommended in the warning area overnight.
Hazard: Life threatening flash flooding from thunderstorms.

Impact: Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Butler, Adrian, Garden City, Rich Hill, Urich, Montrose, Creighton, Chilhowee, Rockville, Foster, Blairstown, Passaic, Ballard, Hartwell, Quick City, La Due, La Tour and Post Oak.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Flood Warning
The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Missouri Big Creek at Blairstown affecting Henry, Johnson and Cass Counties.
What: Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: Big Creek at Blairstown.
When: Until early Saturday afternoon.
Impacts: At 20.0 feet, the west bank of the creek begins to flood. At 23.0 feet, flooding occurs at the west approach to the N Highway bridge located 0.2 miles west of Blairstown. Flooding also occurs across B Highway near Big Creek which is several miles northwest of Blairstown. At 26.0 feet, many farm levees along Big Creek are overtopped. Flooding of rural areas behind the levees occurs.
Additional Details: - At 1:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 23.7 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.9 feet this morning. It will then fall below flood stage early tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where: A portion of west central Missouri, including the following counties, Cass, Jackson and Johnson.
When: Until 300 AM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 1246 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Warrensburg, Harrisonville, Pleasant Hill, Greenwood, Knob Noster, Holden, Lake Lotawana, Lone Jack, East Lynne, Kingsville, Baldwin Park, Whiteman Afb, Centerview, Strasburg, Gunn City, Pittsville and Fayetteville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
