Description

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Missouri Missouri River At Miami affecting Carroll, Saline and Chariton Counties. Missouri River at Waverly affecting Carroll, Lafayette and Saline Counties.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Missouri River at Miami.
When: Until late Saturday night.
Impacts: At 18.0 feet, Low-lying rural areas outside of levees begin to flood.

Heat Advisory

Description

What: Heat index values up to 108 expected.
Where: Portions of east central and northeast Kansas and central, north central, northeast, and west central Missouri.
When: Until 10 PM CDT this evening.
Impacts: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

Recommended Action

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
