The National Weather Service in New Orleans has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Hancock County in southern Mississippi Northwestern Harrison County in southern Mississippi Until 330 PM CDT. At 220 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Reports of flooded roads that are impassable near and around Kiln, and across rural portions of north central and northern Hancock County. Between 3 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.
Hazard: Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

Impact: Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Diamondhead, Kiln, Lyman, Stennis Space Center and Saucier. This includes the following Interstate Interstate 10 in Mississippi between mile markers 8 and 22.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

When: From 5 AM Tuesday through 7 PM Tuesday.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Mississippi Biloxi River Near Lyman affecting Harrison County. For the Biloxi Riverincluding LymanMinor flooding is forecast.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Biloxi River near Lyman.
When: Until Wednesday afternoon.
Impacts: At 14.0 feet, At 14 feet homes on lower Fisherman Trail will begin to flood and lower River Road will be impassable. Driving on Loraine Road will be hazardous due to the high water.
Additional Details: - At 8:45 AM CDT Monday the stage was 10.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 14.0 feet tomorrow morning.
