The Flash Flood Watch has expired for portions of southeast Louisiana, including the following parishes, Central Jefferson, Central Plaquemines, Central St. Charles, Coastal Jefferson, Eastern Orleans, Lower Plaquemines, Lower St. Bernard, Lower St. Charles, Northern St. Tammany, Southeast St. Tammany, Southwestern St. Tammany, Upper Jefferson, Upper Plaquemines, Upper St. Bernard, Upper St. Charles, Washington and Western Orleans and southern Mississippi, including the following areas, Northern Hancock, Northern Harrison, Northern Jackson, Pearl River, Southern Hancock, Southern Harrison and Southern Jackson. The flash flooding threat has ended. Therefore, the Flash Flood Watch has expired.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
Flood Warning
The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Mississippi Jourdan River Near Kiln/Bay St. Louis affecting Hancock County.
What: Minor flooding is occurring.
Where: Jourdan River near Kiln/Bay St. Louis.
When: Until tomorrow morning.
Impacts: At 8.0 feet, The Jourdan River Steamer restaurant will flood. Drainage ditches along Mississippi Highway 43 will be running full and near the shoulder of the road at the bridge approach. Water will cover most of the Jourdan River Steamer property and residential property on the south bank.
Additional Details: - At 6:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 7.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 4.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to fall below flood stage after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 6.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
