Description
Dry conditions and breezy winds will lead to near critical fire weather conditions Thursday. South winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 20 to 30 mph are forecast. Minimum relative humidity values of 20 to 30 percent are also expected. Together, these conditions could lead to the rapid spread of fires. Check burning restrictions and fire danger before burning. Dense Fog Advisory

Description

What: Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
Where: In Minnesota, Carlton and South St. Louis, Southern Cook and Southern Lake Counties. In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, and Iron Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Red Cliff Band, the Bad River Reservation, the northwestern area of the Lac du Flambeau Band, the Grand Portage Reservation and the Fond du Lac Band. Other locations including the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and Madeline Island.
When: Until 10 AM CDT Thursday.
Impacts: Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.
Additional Details: Fog will develop tonight around Lake Superior and will be dense overnight. Visibility will improve Thursday morning.

Recommended Action

If driving, slow down, use your low-beam headlights and fog lights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
