Description

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids MI has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Michigan Grand River at Ionia affecting Ionia County. Chippewa River below Mt. Pleasant affecting Isabella County. Pine River at Alma affecting Gratiot County.
: Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity and increased in duration for the following rivers in Michigan Grand River near Comstock Park affecting Kent County. .Rainfall of 1 to 3 inches has fallen in the past 24 hours on already saturated soil causing rivers to rise.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Chippewa River below Mt. Pleasant.
When: From Sunday morning to early Monday morning.
Impacts: At 8.0 feet, Expect minor flooding of Island Park and Nelson Park in western Mt. Pleasant.
Additional Details: - At 9:15 PM EDT Saturday the stage was 7.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 6.0 feet. - ForecastThe river will rise above flood stage tomorrow morning to 8.1 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon to 5.0 feet early Wednesday morning. It will rise to 5.4 feet early Friday morning. Recommended Action

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
