Description
Combination of dry surface conditions, low afternoon relative humidity values, and gusty west to northwest winds will result in elevated fire danger conditions across northern lower Michigan today. Sustained winds of 10 to 18 mph with occasional gusts of 20 to 30 mph will be seen over northern Michigan late this morning through this afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values of 25 to 35 percent are expected over much of northern lower Michigan. These conditions could lead to rapid spread of fires. Description

What: Temperatures as low as 34 will result in frost formation.
Where: Alcona, Alpena, Arenac, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Iosco, Leelanau, Manistee, and Presque Isle Counties.
When: From 2 AM to 8 AM EDT Sunday.
Impacts: Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.

Recommended Action

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
