Flood Warning
The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Michigan Chocolay River near Harvey affecting Marquette County. .Rain has fallen on a deep primed snowpack, which has led to snowmelt increasing. Flows in rivers could increase quickly and reach critical levels.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Chocolay River near Harvey.
When: Until Monday afternoon.
Impacts: At 11.5 feet, The fishing pier and parking lot near the M-28 bridge will be under water. Timber Lane and Riverside Road may be closed. Homes along Timber Laneand some along Riverside Roadwill experience extensive flooding
Additional Details: - At 8:00 PM EDT Friday the stage was 10.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 PM EDT Friday was 10.4 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.8 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Sunday afternoon. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 10.8 feet on 10/19/2016. - www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Flood Advisory
What: Small stream flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues.
Where: A portion of central Upper Michigan, including the following county, Marquette.
When: Until 1115 AM EDT Saturday.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated.
Additional Details: - At 1115 PM EDT, gauge reports indicated snowmelt and some rainfall over the past few days is causing small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain could result in additional minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Skandia and Carlshend. - www.weather.gov/safety/flood
