The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac MI has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Michigan Cass River At Frankenmuth affecting Saginaw County. Shiawassee River At Owosso affecting Shiawassee and Saginaw Counties. Tittabawassee River At Midland affecting Saginaw and Midland Counties. Saginaw River At Saginaw affecting Saginaw and Bay Counties. .Recent rainfall has saturated the drainage basins causing excessive runoff into the river systems. Additional rainfall is expected through Thursday. Crest forecasts are based on recent rainfall and forecast rainfall through Thursday. Forecast crest may need adjusting based on the exact amount of future basin average rainfall that occurs. For the Cass Riverincluding Cass City, Vassar, Frankenmuth Minor flooding is forecast. For the

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: A portion of southeast Michigan, including the following areas, Bay, Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Lenawee, Livingston, Macomb, Midland, Monroe, Oakland, Saginaw, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair, Tuscola, Washtenaw and Wayne.
When: Through late Thursday night.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded.
Additional Details: - In the last 7 days, most of Southeast Michigan has seen 1.5 to 3.5 inches of rainfall which has saturated soils before the main spring green up. Several additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight and Thursday. Expect an additional 1 to 2 inches of rainfall, with localized new rainfall totals of 3 to 4 inches possible by Thursday evening, dependent on thunderstorm coverage and track. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
