Recommended Action
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Description

What: Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of southeast Michigan, including the following county, Saginaw.
When: Until 215 PM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
Additional Details: - At 1108 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen with reports of curb to curb flooding in downtown Saginaw. Additional rainfall over the next 1 to 2 hours will exacerbate any flooding issues in poor drainage areas. - Additional rainfall amounts to 0.2 to 0.5 inches are possible over the advisory area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Saginaw, Frankenmuth, St. Charles, Freeland, Zilwaukee, Merrill, Bridgeport, Carrollton, Nelson, Swan Creek, Garfield, Arthur, Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, Shields, Buena Vista Township, Fosters, Indiantown, Hemlock and Gera. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
