Description

What: For the Winter Weather Advisory, freezing drizzle expected. Total ice accumulations likely remaining under a tenth of an inch. For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 8 and 12 inche
S: with locally heavier amounts possible. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph, resulting in significant blowing and drifting snow.
Where: Antrim, Charlevoix, and Otsego Counties.
When: For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 1 PM EST this afternoon. For the Winter Storm Warning, from 1 AM Monday to 1 AM EST Tuesday.
Impacts: Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel dangerous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Strong winds could cause tree damage and power outages.

Recommended Action

Description

Patchy freezing drizzle will continue for the next few hours, especially across interior northern lower Michigan. While any additional ice accumulations will remain minimal, secondary and untreated road surfaces will remain ice-covered and slippery. Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling this afternoon. Temperatures are expected to continue to slowly rise above freezing by later this afternoon.
