Description

What: Snow showers, locally heavy at times, and blowing and drifting snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 inch for eastern sections of the counties, to 6 to 8 inches along and west of I-196. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
Where: Allegan and Van Buren Counties.
When: Until 7 AM EST Thursday.
Impacts: Visibility and road conditions may change rapidly over short distances in lake effect snow. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.
Additional Details: Snow showers will ramp up today, and will be the heaviest from mid afternoon through early evening before likely moving offshore. If they stay onshore tonight, locally heavier amounts will be possible.

Recommended Action

Slow down and use caution while traveling. During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions.
