Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
Where: Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts.
When: Very late tonight through Sunday afternoon.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Additional Details: - Showers and a few embedded thunderstorms with localized narrow bands of torrential rainfall are possible very late tonight into Sunday afternoon. Widespread rainfall amounts of 0.50 to 2 inches are expected. Howeverlocalized narrow bands of 2-4" of rain are possible within a 3 hour period. While it remains uncertain if these narrow bands of heavier rain occurthe potential exists for localized flash floodingespecially if it were to occur over a vulnerable urban center. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
