Winter Storm Warning
What: Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches. For elevations above 1000 feet, snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are expected. Northwest winds gusting around 30 to 40 mph overnight through Monday.
Where: Portions of central and north central Maryland, northern and northwest Virginia, and panhandle West Virginia.
When: From 3 PM this afternoon to 10 AM EST Monday. Rain or a rain and snow mix will change to all snow between 3 and 6 PM this afternoon and evening. Snow will continue through tonight before tapering off Monday morning. Most of the snow accumulation will occur tonight into early Monday morning.
Impacts: Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning commute.
Additional Details: Visibility will be reduced to below one-half mile at times in falling and blowing snow overnight into Monday morning.
