Flood Advisory

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Portions of south central Indiana, including the following counties, Clark, Floyd, Jefferson and Scott and central Kentucky, including the following counties, Henry, Oldham and Trimble.
When: Until 1115 PM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 807 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include La Grange, New Castle, Bedford, Pendleton, Charlestown, Sellersburg, Owen, Goshen, Campbellsburg and Bethlehem. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
