Description

What: Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of western Kentucky, including the following counties, Calloway, Christian, Marshall, Todd and Trigg.
When: Until 1045 PM CDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Additional Details: - At 749 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Hopkinsville, Murray, Oak Grove, Benton, Cadiz, Elkton, Wranglers Campground, Energy Lake Campground, Golden Pond Visitors Center, Turkey Bay, Land Between The Lakes Area, Fort Campbell, Clarksville, Guthrie, Pembroke, Canton, Hardin, Trenton, Lafayette and Linton. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
