Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Portions of south central Indiana, including the following counties, Clark, Crawford, Dubois, Floyd, Harrison, Orange, Perry and Washington and central Kentucky, including the following counties, Breckinridge, Bullitt, Hancock, Hardin, Jefferson, Meade, Oldham, Shelby and Spencer.
When: Until 1245 PM EDT /1145 AM CDT/.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Additional Details: - At 946 AM EDT /846 AM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Louisville, Jeffersonville, New Albany, Jeffersontown, St. Matthews, Shively, Jasper, Shepherdsville, Lyndon and Tell City. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
