Flood Warning
What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where: Portions of east central and northeast Kansas, including the following counties, in east central Kansas, Wabaunsee. In northeast Kansas, Pottawatomie.
When: Until 1130 PM CDT.
Impacts: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
Additional Details: - At 926 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Widespread flooding has been reported in Wamego. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Northeastern Manhattan, Wamego, Westmoreland, Blaine, St. Marys, Onaga, St. George, Olsburg, Belvue, Emmett, Louisville, Wheaton and Tuttle Creek Lake.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
