Warm temperatures, low humidity and breezy southwest winds will lead to critical fire weather conditions over portions of the area this afternoon. Due to the proximity of a surface low winds have been slow to develop but are still forecast to through the duration of this afternoon. Confidence is high enough to issue a Red Flag Warning for Greeley, Wichita, Logan and Gove counties while the Fire Weather Watch has been expanded into Sheridan, Graham and Norton counties.
Affected Area: Fire Weather Zones 004 Norton, 015 Sheridan and 016 Graham.
Timing: From Monday afternoon through Monday evening.
Winds: Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
Relative Humidity: As low as 10 percent.
Impacts: Unpredictable fire behavior. Any fires that develop may rapidly grow and spread out of control.
