The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Kansa
S: Smoky Hill River at Enterprise affecting Dickinson County. Chapman Creek near Chapman affecting Dickinson County. Salt Creek near Ada affecting Ottawa County.
: The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansa
S: Solomon River near Niles affecting Saline, Ottawa and Dickinson Counties.
What: Moderate flooding is forecast.
Where: Solomon River near Niles.
When: Until Friday afternoon.
Impacts: At 19.0 feet, Water begins to overflow into the low portion of a cultivated field on the right bank, upstream, adjacent to the gage site. At 23.0 feet, Rural overflow begins around the community of Niles. At 24.0 feet, Low land flooding continues along the river. At 27.0 feet, Arrowhead Road west of Niles floods.
Additional Details: - At 1:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 22.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage late this afternoon to a crest of 29.2 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Friday morning. - Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. What: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Chapman Creek near Chapman.
When: Until tomorrow evening.
Impacts: At 19.0 feet, Lowland flooding occurs from near the town of Industry upstream from Chapman to the Smoky Hill River downstream from Chapman.
Additional Details: - At 1:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 20.9 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.0 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 19.0 feet.

Impacts: At 21.0 feet, Low land agricultural flooding occurs from near Enterprise to near Junction City. At 26.0 feet, Valley north of the Kansas Highway 43 bridge on the north side of Enterprise floods. At 27.0 feet, Railroad tracks near Enterprise flood.
Additional Details: - At 1:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 27.0 feet. - ForecastThe river will fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning to 24.8 feet tomorrow evening. It will then rise above flood stage Thursday morning to 26.7 feet early Friday morning. It will fall below flood stage again Friday morning. - Flood stage is 26.0 feet.

What: Heat index values around 104 to 108.
Where: Portions of central, east central, north central, and northeast Kansas.
When: Until 9 PM CDT this evening.
Impacts: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
