Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. The next statement will be issued by Monday afternoon at 1230 PM CDT.

Strong south-southwesterly winds will continue this afternoon through the early evening hours, with occasional gusts as high as 45 mph. There are also some developing showers and a few isolated thunderstorms this afternoon that could help generate stronger wind gusts up to 50 mph. If traveling on east-to-west oriented roads, be prepared for gusty crosswinds, especially in high profile vehicles. Secure all loose objects. Winds will begin to diminish by mid-evening.
