Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: Portions of north central and northern Indiana, including the following counties, in north central Indiana, Kosciusko and St. Joseph. In northern Indiana, Elkhart, Fulton IN and Marshall.
When: Until 500 PM EDT.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Additional Details: - At 149 PM EDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Goshen, Warsaw, Plymouth, Nappanee, Rochester, Winona Lake, Bremen, Syracuse, Bourbon, Wakarusa, Argos, Milford, Culver, Akron, North Webster, Pierceton, Mentone, Millersburg, New Paris and Benton. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
