THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 113 IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EDT /3 AM CDT/ WEDNESDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN INDIANA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL INDIANA ST. JOSEPH IN NORTHERN INDIANA ELKHART LA PORTE LAGRANGE STEUBEN IN MICHIGAN THIS WATCH INCLUDES 5 COUNTIES IN SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN BERRIEN BRANCH CASS MI HILLSDALE ST. JOSEPH MI THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ANGOLA, BENTON HARBOR, BENTON HEIGHTS, BRONSON, BUCHANAN, CASSOPOLIS, COLDWATER, DOWAGIAC, EDWARDSBURG, ELKHART, FAIR PLAIN, FREMONT, GOSHEN, GRANGER, HILLSDALE, JONESVILLE, LA PORTE, LAGRANGE, LITCHFIELD, MARCELLUS, MENDON, MICHIGAN CITY, MISHAWAKA, NAPPANEE, NILES, PAW PAW LAKE, SHIPSHEWANA, SOUTH BEND, ST. Flood Watch

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of northern Indiana, including the following areas, De Kalb, Eastern St. Joseph IN, Elkhart, Lagrange, Marshall, Noble, Northern Kosciusko, Northern La Porte, Southern Kosciusko, Southern La Porte, Starke, Steuben and Western St. Joseph IN, southwest Michigan, including the following areas, Branch, Cass MI, Hillsdale, Northern Berrien, Southern Berrien and St. Joseph MI, and northwest Ohio, including the following areas, Defiance, Fulton OH, Henry and Williams.
When: Through Wednesday evening.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Additional Details: - Although water levels continue to fall in many areas, soils are saturated with areas of standing water still existing. Chances for heavy rain increase tonight into Wednesday to bring the threat or renewed flooding to the watch area. Uncertainty exists on where the heaviest rain may occur, including locations currently not covered by the watch. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
