Description
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 305 UNTIL 11 PM CDT THIS EVENING WHICH REPLACES A PORTION OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 301. THE NEW WATCH IS VALID FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN ILLINOIS THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST ILLINOIS HENRY IL MERCER ROCK ISLAND WHITESIDE IN IOWA THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 7 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL IOWA CEDAR CLINTON JACKSON JONES LINN MUSCATINE SCOTT THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALEDO, ANAMOSA, BETTENDORF, CEDAR RAPIDS, CLINTON, CREDIT ISLAND, DAVENPORT, GENESEO, MAQUOKETA, MOLINE, MUSCATINE, ROCK ISLAND, STERLING, AND TIPTON.

Flood Watch

Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Bureau, Hancock, Henderson, Henry IL, McDonough, Mercer, Putnam, Rock Island, Warren and Whiteside, Iowa, including the following areas, Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry IA, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington, and northeast Missouri, including the following areas, Clark and Scotland.
When: Through Thursday morning.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
Additional Details: - Several rounds of heavy rain producing thunderstorms are expected through Thursday morning across the watch area. The storms may be slow moving or redeveloping over the same areas resulting in torrential rainfall and possibly several inches of rain by Thursday morning.

Recommended Action

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
