The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Illinoi
S: Des Plaines River at Lincolnshire affecting Cook and Lake IL Counties. Des Plaines River near Des Plaines affecting Cook County. Des Plaines River near Russell affecting Lake IL County. Des Plaines River near Gurnee affecting Lake IL County.
What: Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecasted to occur.
Where: Des Plaines River from Townline Road in Libertyville downstream to Palatine Road in Prospect Heights, including the Lincolnshire gauge.
When: Until further notice.
Impacts: At 16.0 feet, Numerous structures threatened along US-45 (Milwaukee Avenue) between IL-22 (Half Day Road) and Deerfield Road. Access route threatened for numerous residences near US-45 (Milwaukee Avenue) and Deerfield Road. IL-60 (Townline Road) threatened near the river.
Additional Details: - At 10:45 AM CDT Sunday, the stage was 15.0 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest near 15.6 feet (Major Flood Stage) late tonight. It will then fall over the next several days. - Flood stage is 12.5 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. What: Temperatures as low as 33 will result in frost formation in the near west suburbs. Temperatures as low as 35 with patchy frost in Chicago.
Where: Central Cook County.
When: From 2 AM to 9 AM CDT Monday.
Impacts: Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.
