Description

What: Heat index values of 105 to 110 expected. Locally higher values possible on Monday.
Where: Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, and western Kentucky.
When: Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ Tuesday.
Impacts: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

Recommended Action

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Description

At 710 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 9 miles northwest of Uniontown to near Eldorado, moving south at 50 mph.
Hazard: 70 mph wind gusts.
Source: Radar indicated.
Impact: Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include Harrisburg, Carmi, Eldorado, Norris City, Ridgway, Equality, New Haven, Raleigh, Omaha, Broughton, Maunie, Junction, and Muddy.

Recommended Action

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
