Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
Where: Portions of northwest Illinois, including the following counties, Carroll, Jo Daviess and Stephenson and Iowa, including the following counties, Benton, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson, Jones and Linn.
When: Until midnight CDT tonight.
Impacts: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Additional Details: - Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches fell across this area Tuesday evening, especially along and near the Highway 20 corridor. Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon through this evening. These storms will be capable of producing rainfall rates up to 1 to 2 inches per hour. Any additional heavy rain on saturated ground will increase the risk for flash flooding.

Recommended Action

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
