Description

The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Illinoi
S: Kaskaskia River at Vandalia. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours.
What: Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
Where: Kaskaskia River at Vandalia.
When: Until Saturday evening.
Impacts: At 26.0 feet, The Dively and Vandalia Levees begin to be overtopped.
Additional Details: - At 11:30 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 21.1 feet. - Recent ActivityThe maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:30 AM CDT Tuesday was 21.1 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise to a crest of 26.1 feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage Friday afternoon. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 26.1 feet on 04/24/1944.
