Description

Areas of fog will continue through mid morning for the valleys of northern Washington into the Idaho Panhandle. The fog will be locally dense with visibility one quarter mile or less. Temperatures in many areas are also near the freezing mark, which could lead to slick conditions on untreated roads.

Description

What: Stagnant conditions will have potential to trap pollutants near the ground with deteriorated air quality.
Where: Lapwai, Dobson Pass, Peck, Athol, Mullan, Lookout Pass, Kellogg, Priest River, Lewiston Grade, Kamiah, Winchester, Lewiston, Pinehurst, Eastport, Sandpoint, Fernwood, St. Maries, Wallace, Soldiers Meadow Road, Bonners Ferry, Craigmont, Culdesac, Clark Fork, Nezperce, Gifford, Fourth Of July Pass, Schweitzer Mountain Road, and Osburn.
When: Until 10 AM PST Friday.
Impacts: Periods of air stagnation can lead to the buildup of pollutants near the surface.
Additional Details: A weak push of northeast winds will arrive between Bonners Ferry and Coeur D Alene Thursday along the US 95 corridor which could bring temporary improvement to air quality.

Recommended Action

Buildup of fine pollution particles can be harmful to those sensitive to air pollution including people with lung and heart problems, people with diabetes, children and the elderly.
