RED FLAG WARNING FOR GUSTY WINDS, DRY FUELS,
And Low Humidity Today: The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind, dry fuels, and low relative humidity, which is in effect from noon today until 8 PM EDT this evening.
Affected Area: Rabun and Habersham.
Timing: From noon today until 8 PM EDT this evening.
Winds: Southwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
Humidity: As low as 25 percent.
Fuel Moisture: low
Impacts: Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Recommended Action

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of gusty winds, low relative humidity, warm temperatures, and dry fuels can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
