Description

The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Florida Choctawhatchee River near Bruce (SR 20) affecting Washington and Walton Counties.
What: Minor flooding is forecast.
Where: Choctawhatchee River near Bruce (SR 20).
When: From Wednesday morning to early Monday morning.
Impacts: At 14.0 feet, Big Cedar, Cowford, and Choctawhatchee River Roads begin to flood in Walton County. Flood waters impact storage areas underneath homes on the west banks of the Choctawhatchee River. Low areas along Strickland Road in Washington County become subject to flooding.
Additional Details: - At 7:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 12.7 feet. - ForecastThe river is expected to rise above flood stage late tomorrow morning to a crest of 14.8 feet early Thursday afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Sunday afternoon. - Flood stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood HistoryThis crest compares to a previous crest of 14.8 feet on 03/11/1934. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued Wednesday afternoon at 215 PM CDT.
