Description
Areas of fog have developed across interior portions of South Florida early this morning. Visibilities have dropped down to a a quarter to a half a mile in some locations and will likely continue to drop over the next several hours. If lower visibilities materialize, a dense fog advisory may be needed. Motorists are advised to drive with caution this morning as visibilities may widely vary over short distances. Use low beam headlights and leave extra distance between your vehicle and others on the road when encountering significant reductions in visibility. Allow extra time to travel to destinations.

Cold Weather Advisory

Description

What: For the Dense Fog Advisory, visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 33 expected.
Where: Inland Collier County County.
When: For the Dense Fog Advisory, until 9 AM EST this morning. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 3 AM to 9 AM EST Monday.
Impacts: Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

Recommended Action

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
