Description
West to northwest winds will continue to produce occasional gusts up to 35 to 40 mph behind a cold front through late this afternoon. These strong wind gusts will blow around unsecured objects. Such sudden wind gusts can also make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Winds will diminish but still be breezy at times near to after sunset this evening.

Description

What: For the Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29 expected. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 24 expected.
Where: Volusia, Inland Indian River, Inland Brevard, Inland Saint Lucie, Lake, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole.
When: From 1 AM to 9 AM EST Friday.
Impacts: Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Wind chills this cold could be hazardous for those without access to adequate warmth, clothing, or shelter.

Recommended Action

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.
