What: Urban and small stream flooding caused by heavy rain and thunderstorms continues.
Where: Portions of central and northern California, including the following counties, Placer, Amador, Butte, El Dorado, Nevada, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba.
When: Until midnight PDT tonight.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and creeks. Ponding of water over roadways.
Additional Details: - At 843 PM PDT, local law enforcement reported roadway flooding in the advisory area due to heavy rain and thunderstorms. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen over the past 6 hours. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Sacramento, Elk Grove, Roseville, Citrus Heights, Folsom, Rocklin, Galt, Auburn, Grass Valley, Marysville, Placerville, Fair Oaks, El Dorado Hills, Carmichael, Cameron Park, Yuba City, Rancho Cordova, West Sacramento, Lincoln and Lake Of The Pines. - Including portions of Interstate 80, US Highway 50 and Highway 49 - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
