Description

What: Heavy snow expected. Snow levels falling to 2000 feet tonight. Snow accumulations between 5 and 8 inches. Locally up to 17 inches above 3000 feet.
Where: Trinity County.
When: Until 4 PM PST Wednesday.
Impacts: Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Tire chains may be necessary if travelling through mountain passes. Road closures are possible.
Additional Details: Snow levels will remain above 4000 feet through early afternoon Snow levels drop to 2000 feet through Tuesday. There is a potential for snow levels as low as 1500 feet with the heaviest snowfall. The heaviest snowfall rates are expected through Tuesday morning.

Recommended Action

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary. Do not touch downed lines and report any power outages to your electric company. Travel is highly discouraged due to slick roadways and the possibility of downed trees and power lines.
