Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
Where: Southwestern Humboldt County in northwestern California and around Cape Mendocino Until 1045 PM PST.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. River or stream flows are elevated.
Additional Details: - At 837 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.3 to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Honeydew, Shelter Cove, Rio Dell, Petrolia, Scotia, Bull Creek, Ettersburg and Capetown. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Description

What: South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
Where: Humboldt Interior.
When: Until 10 PM PST this evening.
Impacts: Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges and exposed coastal headlands. There is an increased risk of tree branches and other debris on roadways. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Recommended Action

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
