Description

What: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
Where: A portion of central California, including the following counties, Madera and Mariposa.
When: Until 900 PM PST.
Impacts: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways.
Additional Details: - At 707 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include Yosemite South Entrance, Metcalf Gap, Ahwahnee, Fish Camp, Wawona Campground, Wawona Visitor Center, Wawona and Mariposa Grove. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
